‘Elden Ring’ director hints at upcoming games
FromSoftware president Hidetaka Miyazaki has confirmed that his company, the creators of the “Dark Souls” trilogy and this year’s hit “Elden Ring”, is already in final development on another game.
Talk with 4Gamer.net recently (via VGC), Miyazaki was asked about a 2018 interview he gave in which he said he had “3.5 games in development” at the studio, including two unannounced at the time.
The 0.5 title was the PS4 VR entry “Deroot”, while the previously announced title was “Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice”. One of the unannounced titles ended up being “Elden Ring”, which leaves this latest mystery title which has apparently been in development since 2016 (it has been suggested to possibly be “Armored Core 6” – the first entry in this franchise since 2012).
Miyazaki also revealed that he’s already working on his next game as a director and says he’d like to “work on a more abstract fantasy than anything we’ve done in the past.”
He confirmed that the company has several other games in development by directors other than himself, but they couldn’t be discussed at this time except to tease that they will show a “different color of direction for From Software.”
