Jeff Nichols is no longer directing the next entry in the A quiet place series, leaving the spin-off without a director for now.

According to a recent Deadline report, Nichols and Paramount went their separate ways after the director decided to pivot and focus on another project at Paramount. According to the report, the agencies are already submitting replacements for Nichols and Paramount aims to find a new director very soon, given the popularity of the A quiet place series.

Originally slated to be written and directed by Nichols, this debut of A quiet place will not be a sequel to the recent release A Quiet Place, Part II. Instead, the film will be based on an idea by John Krasinski and act more like a spin-off from the main films. The report says development for the film is very early and nothing is concrete yet, but the plan is to help expand the post-apocalyptic, monster-overrun world that Krasinski introduced in the original 2018 film. The release of this third film in the series is scheduled for March 31, 2023.

After being delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, A Quiet Place, Part II launched over Memorial Day weekend and quickly reached the top of the box office. The film totaled $ 57 million opening over four days and grossed $ 69.1 million in its first week, overtaking the original film and showing the series’ success was not short-lived. .
